Current IK Set Bug with Call of the Ancients

Update: This bug has been fixed on patch 2.0.5.

Here’s a current bug with the Immortal King Set when using Call of the Ancients – Together as One rune. What this does is basically give you a free 50% reduction in damage taken. You can use this with any build, you just need to have access to the Immortal King’s 4pc bonus.

Basically put on the IK set, cast Call of the Ancients with Together as One rune and then put your other gear back on. The ancients will disappear but the buff will remain. You can also wait for the CotA cooldown to reset and you can even switch that skill out for whatever else you want and the buff will stay until you make a new game. Hopefully Blizzard will get this bug fixed very soon.

Major Rift and Gambling Loot Hotfix

Hey guys, this hotfix went live last night. It really is a major change to the way we are going to farm for legendaries. There is a whole huge explanation why from Blizzard. The main running reason behind it is they want players to do rifts as the end game in Diablo 3 RoS.

So, they decided to increase the legendary drop rate in rifts by 100% and they even decided to buff the legendary drop rate for Kadala even more than that. That’s good and all but there were a lot of other not so good changes as well. One of those being chests are going to be rare. Not super rare but not farmable either. They also buffed the drops from chests a bit to counter-act that. So, if you see a chest now make sure to open it.

Blizzard also nerfed the Unique monsters (purple-named monsters) you find in the game to be on the same drop table as champions and elite packs. They won’t drop as much loot anymore.

So, for now, the best way to farm for legendaries is to:

  • Run rifts.
  • Gamble your blood shards.

I think this is a pretty good change and actually makes blood shards kinda rewarding instead of just being there. Anyway, don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube videos and come check out my stream on Twitch!

PSA: AH Shuts Down Tomorrow!!!

Just a quick PSA letting people know that the AH is going to shut down tomorrow, probably when maintanence starts on 3/18 at 3:00am PST. Now is a great time to sell a bunch of stuff to get rid of before the expansion hits.

Here’s what I am doing to prepare for no AH:

  • Selling all my gems (that aren’t being used on characters).
  • Selling any white items I can find for 30k-40k each.
  • Selling crafting mats that won’t be used for crafting past level 60.
  • Selling any old decent gear that is cluttering up my stash.

I currently am not buying anything from the AH. I feel like saving all my gold for the expansion is the best way to go. We are also only 8 days away from RoS! I’m pretty excited about it!

Diablo 3 Patch 2.0.2 Is Live!

This patch has fixed a lot of the different types of “runs” people have been doing. While that isn’t all, it is good to see Blizzard staying on top of completely insane farming routes.

Wait, didn’t I just post a video showing one the other day? Yeah, I did and will continue doing so. Why? That’s what a lot of people like to see and learn about. Don’t worry though, I will keep other types of videos coming as well.

Here’s the important changes and fixes that this patch 2.0.2 is bringing us.

Finally, getting rid of the ding in communities and clan chat. I listed this first since it fixes one of the biggest annoyances I’ve had since patch 2.0.1.

Fixing the Mira runs and Caldeum Refugees. Good for the game long term to see this extremely high XP spots nerfed.

Level 60 crafted amulets are back and can be crafted now! That’s really nice, once the servers come back up I think I’m gonna craft a few.

The act 2 keywarden Sokahr’s reflect damage has been nerfed a bit. I really bet a lot of hardcore players are glad to see this. I almost got one shot by him yesterday. I would have hated to lose a character to this in hardcore.

One notable omission from the patch is the guaranteed legendary drop from Skeleton King. I really did expect to see this in this patch. I’m sure it will be one of the top priorities in the next patch. Maybe I should do a post on that while it’s still around.

Anyway, that pretty much sums what I think is important in the patch. If you missed seeing the actual patch notes then head over to DiabloFans to check them out.

D3 Infernal Machine Changes 2.0.1

Here is some stuff about the Infernal Machine changes. I decided to do this post since I have been seeing a lot of questions about what changed, etc. I figured if I had those questions as well it would be beneficial for everyone if I put some of the common answers to questions in one place. I really hope this helps you out. If you remember anything it’s this…..what’s old is old and what’s new is new. 🙂

Keywarden Key Drop Rates 2.0.1

The drop rates for the keys from the keywardens have dropped. Now, the max drop rate is 50% on Torment 6 difficulty (instead of 100% drop on MP10). It’s good to note here that the organ drop percentages from the uber bosses are the same as the keywardens. Click through to see a list of all the percentages.

Diablo 3 Crafting Changes in 2.0.1

Along with the other changes, crafting got a pretty big makeover to help simplify it. At least that’s what I see the reason being. Very much a welcome change in my eyes. Here a breakdown of the crafting changes you probably noticed in patch 2.0.1.

A lot of the crafting materials are totally gone. Don’t worry though, they have been switched to the new crafting materials. If you have a ton of Demonic Essences you probably had a lot of Tome of Secrets. All the different essences that were different at each difficulty level have all been condensed down to these materials.

Diablo III Auction Houses To Be Shut Down!

I know I haven’t been keeping up with major news on the blog about Loot 2.0 or even the expansion but this is news I wanted to make sure I cover. Major news coming from Blizzard today regarding the D3 auction houses. On March 18th, 2014 both of the auction houses are going to be shut down!

Here’s what Blizzard has to say about it (or watch the video posted above):

When we initially designed and implemented the auction houses, the driving goal was to provide a convenient and secure system for trades. But as we’ve mentioned on different occasions, it became increasingly clear that despite the benefits of the AH system and the fact that many players around the world use it, it ultimately undermines Diablo’s core game play: kill monsters to get cool loot. With that in mind, we want to let everyone know that we’ve decided to remove the gold and real-money auction house system from Diablo III.

We feel that this move along with the Loot 2.0 system being developed concurrently with Reaper of Soulsâ„¢ will result in a much more rewarding game experience for our players.

We’re working out the details of how the auction house system will be shut down, but we wanted to share the news as soon as we made the decision in order to give everyone as much advance notice as possible. Please note that the shutdown will occur on March 18, 2014. We will keep everyone informed as we work through this process.

Josh Mosqueira and I wanted to provide everyone with a little more information behind this decision, so please have a look at the video, and stay tuned to this site for further updates in the months ahead.

I do feel like this is ultimately good news. Yes, I did use the auction house a lot (buying/selling) to get gear. I do agree that the AH can and does undermine Diablo’s core gameplay. The thing is now we can expect to see many more unauthorized spammy third party item/gold sellers on the internet. People will still buy gear but with a lot more risk involved. I’m glad that Blizzard really is focusing hard on fixing the game and this is just one aspect of that. It’s great to see that Blizzard isn’t letting AH profits get in the way of making a better game.

For more news concerning the AH and even just the expansion, Reaper of Souls, check out DiabloFans. I’m always at their site checking stuff out.

WOO HOO!!! Finally hit Paragon level 100!

Just wanted to do a quick post to let everybody know that I finally hit Paragon level 100! I know…I know….big deal….it’s been done to death since paragon levels came out.

You say that, but you will be happy when you hit the milestone. 🙂 Anyway, after hitting 100 I switched out my helm gem. Then I thought….now what do I do? I farmed a few Demonic Essences but just didn’t feel it. I think I’ve actually played my Barb for like an hour since hitting 100.

I do plan on playing around with different specs, find a great legendary farming spot, leveling up my Monk, and even playing my hardcore character some as well. Don’t worry, I have plenty more videos planned for the future as well.

Patch 1.0.5 PTR Madness – Monster Power and Sprint Nerf

I have spent a bit of time on the PTR last night and was able to record this video. Lots of changes are happening in 1.0.5 and a few major changes.

I covered two major changes in the video above: Monster Power and the Sprint nerf.

The new Monster Power system is pretty cool and a very welcome addition to Diablo 3. The questions I had about it were pretty simple ones. How hard will Monster Power 10 be and What kind of rewards can we expect from Monster Power.
