Diablo 3 RoS Patch 2.0.4 Changes – Buffs and Nerfs

Instead of doing a copy pasta of the most current patch notes for patch 2.0.4, I did a video going over some of the bigger buffs and nerfs. This should give you a brief breakdown of what to expect with the new patch.

I am wanting to do more videos like this one when patches hit as a way to let you know which videos that I’ve done in the past no longer work. Don’t worry though, I will update those specific blog posts to let you know when they are no longer effective.

Here’s a link to the official 2.0.4 patch notes: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/13532431/patch-204-now-live-4-8-2014

Here’s a quick rundown of the buffs and nerfs of patch 2.0.4.

Read About the Systems Preview in Patch 1.0.4

If you haven’t seen it yet, the systems preview blog post for patch 1.0.4 is now live. It looks like there is a bunch of goodies coming for 1.0.4 which is expected to drop at the end of this month.

Here’s some highlights:

  • No more averaging MF in co-op games
  • Monster health in co-op games will be a flat 75% increase per player
  • Enrage timers on elite packs….GONE!
  • Elite packs no longer heal back to full health
  • No more invulnerable minions
  • Normal monsters buffed a bit and drops for magic items increased by a factor of four
  • Adjusting Fire Chains and Shielding affixes
  • Weapons ilvl 61-62 can roll damage that extends to the ilvl 63 level
  • Reducing repair costs of high-end items by 25%
  • Adding new affix to help with two-hander weapons and dual-wielding

There is a lot more to come as this is just the first developer blog post for patch 1.0.4. It looks to be off to a good start, but won’t really be able to tell until the patch is live.

June 28th Hotfixes – Better Drop Chance For ilvl 61 and Above

Thought I would give a heads up about the hotfix that happened today. This is officially the first hotfix that did not nerf anything! Hahaha, Blizzard pushed this hotfix through fast to fix the drop chance for Act 3 and 4 without having to wait for the next patch 1.0.3b.

One thing that kinda drives me crazy is how instead of increasing the drop rates in Act 3-4 Inferno to make it more rewarding, they go and increase the drop chances for all the Acts. Not sure if this will make it worthwhile to farm Act 3 Inferno or just to stay in Act 1 and farm there.

They stated before the game came out Inferno should be a huge brick wall and just for the “elite” players, but now it seems they are trying to make it more accessible to as many people as possible. First the Inferno nerfs, now doubling the ilvl 63 drop rates….it almost feels like they have a lack of direction for Inferno difficulty.

Don’t worry about the next small 1.0.3b patch, it’ll happen next week as far as I know.

Here’s a list of the full hotfix notes:

Items
The drop rates for high-end items (items level 61-63) have been increased for Acts III and IV of Hell difficulty and Acts I – IV of Inferno difficulty: The new approximate drop rates are as follows:

Hell – Act III and Act IV

  • iLvl 61: 9% to 13.9%
  • iLvl 62: 1.9% to 3.45%
  • iLvl 63: 0% (no change)

Inferno – Act I

  • iLvl 61: 17.7% to 23.9%
  • iLvl 62: 7.9% to 12.6%
  • iLvl 63: 2.0% to 4.8%

Inferno – Act II

  • iLvl 61: 18.6% to 23.3%
  • iLvl 62: 12.4% to 18.6%
  • iLvl 63: 4.1% to 9.3%

Inferno – Act III and Act IV

  • iLvl 61: 24.1% to 27.1%
  • iLvl 62: 16.1% to 21.7%
  • iLvl 63: 8.0% to 16.3%

Bug Fixes
Fixed a bug with several items that would allow those items to block pathing when dropped on the ground

Bosses
Bosses are now guaranteed to drop at least 1 Rare item for players with 4 stacks of Nephalem Valor and at least 2 Rare items for players with 5 stacks of Nephalem Valor

Bug Fixes
Fixed a crash that could sometimes occur when a player was interacting with environment objects (e.g. opening chests or clicking on a lectern) and fixed several additional game and service crashes.

Official Beta Patch 15 Notes

Beta Patch 15 is going live tonight, here are the official patch notes.

Not a whole lot going on in this patch, mostly just fixing some bugs and minor adjustments.  I did see one undocumented change when logging in.  They have put the authenticator in D3 when logging in.

I’m sure there are a lot more undocumented changes and I’ll keep you informed when the servers come back up.
