D3 Infernal Machine Changes 2.0.1

Here is some stuff about the Infernal Machine changes. I decided to do this post since I have been seeing a lot of questions about what changed, etc. I figured if I had those questions as well it would be beneficial for everyone if I put some of the common answers to questions in one place. I really hope this helps you out. If you remember anything it’s this…..what’s old is old and what’s new is new. 🙂

Keywarden Key Drop Rates 2.0.1

The drop rates for the keys from the keywardens have dropped. Now, the max drop rate is 50% on Torment 6 difficulty (instead of 100% drop on MP10). It’s good to note here that the organ drop percentages from the uber bosses are the same as the keywardens. Click through to see a list of all the percentages.

  • Torment 1 = 25%
  • Torment 2 = 28%
  • Torment 3 = 33%
  • Torment 4 = 38%
  • Torment 5 = 43%
  • Torment 6 = 50%

The rates have been lowered across the board due to the changes to the Infernal Machine event at level 70. At level 70 the boss portal is no longer random and you will get to choose which boss portal you want to open by crafting a specific machine for that boss. Also, it’s good to note that you no longer have to get 5 stacks of Valor in order for the keys to drop since Valor was taken out of the game.

Should I save my keys for the expansion?

The short answer to this is no. This is due to Blizzard having a different type of key that is dropped at level 70. You won’t gain anything by saving materials right now. I was a bit bummed out when I learned this since I have 59 x Key of Destruction but I guess overall it really isn’t a surprise.

Hellfire Ring Changes 2.0.1

The Hellfire Ring will now roll higher main stats due to Loot 2.0, so if you have the parts might as well make a ring now to help leveling in RoS.

Infernal Machine in Reaper of Souls

When the expansion hits and get to level 70 you will have to start all over from the beginning with this. Meaning that you will have to farm out the plans, keys, and organs all over again to make a level 70 Hellfire Ring. Once again, a bit disappointed but kinda expected as that is usually the way Blizzard does expansions.

The new Hellfire Ring will have 6 primary stats on it as well as being able to cast a fire ring instead of a random fireball like the current one.

Different Infernal Machines at Level 70

I thought I would go ahead and add this in here as well. Earlier I stated that you can choose which uberboss you wanted to fight by crafting a seperate machine for each. Here’s the list:

  • Infernal Machine of Bones – Leoric and Maghda. Drops Leoric’s Regret organ.
  • Infernal Machine of War – Siegebreaker and Zoltan Kulle. Drops Idol of Terror organ.
  • Infernal Machine of Gluttony – Rakanoth and Ghom. Drops Vial of Putridness organ.
  • Infernal Machine of Evil – Diablo and random Ubers. Drops Heart of Evil organ.
